 at 3:00 PMTry translating Mandarin to English for 5 hrs (talking non-stop)... I did that... For The Parent's Teacher Meeting for the Pre-Nursery and Nursery 1 which starts @ 8.30am and lasted til 1.15pm... SO TEDIOUS!!! in the midst of the session with the parents, my brain went NUMB!!! almost dead...I was so exhausted after the session... The Kids studying in my school are mostly expatriates... So...their parents certainly couldn't communicate with my Mandarin Teacher(from China)... So here m i..."the translator of the day"... It was on a first come first serve basis, and, we have to attend to them individually, giving them comments and feedback of the child's performance and progression in class... And we have abt 30 over parents to attend to... Half way thru, my brain kinda jammed up out of a sudden, and i was lik trying to figure out what is actually coming out of my mouth...Haha I was lik hoping that the session will end real soon... This is my first time doing it n definitely it was such a relief that i didn't make any Boo-boos in front of the parents...Lucky me... It ended all well today... But it's not the end of the nightmare... 2 weeks later... will be the Parent's Teacher meeting for the Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 & 2 students... meaning that i will be expecting more parents coming in... and definitely more talking... as the parents are usually more concern abt the progression on their child's performance in school academically...making sure that their child's is up to the standard to proceed to another stage of education - the elementary school, whether it's the local school or the international school... Well...Understandable as each and every parents want the best for their child... All the best to me ya!!! Jia You!! Jia You!! With Love,
